Off we go!
A team from the store is headed to Chicago for the summer CHA show. CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) is a trade show for the craft industry. All of your favorite scrap manufacturers will be there debuting their new fall lines. We will be placing orders while there. Be ready for lots of great new goodies to begin arriving at the store in the weeks to come!
We will be taking a lot of pictures while we are there so check back here for some great sneak peeks of what is to come!
Also- we are finalizing the August class and event schedule and hope to have it printed and posted before the end of the week. Stay tuned for more details!

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are coming to the Factory!
Usually the size of playing cards (2 1/2"x3 1/2"), ATCs are mini works of art created with trading in mind. Artists (that is us) create the cards using scraps and mini treasures, some are very vintagey, some more contemporary. The great thing about ATCs is that there really are no rules! You create what you want, how you want- stamp them, ink them, draw on them, collage them, whatever! You can create unique one of a kind works of art or multiples of similar cards. Once you have a supply of cards, you then head to a meet up and trade with other artists!

What is NYOBC?
You've seen it on the store calendar and probably wondered "What is NYOBC?" NYOBC stands for Not Your Ordinary Book Club. It is a kit and idea book program by Pinecone Press Books. Each month club members come together to review the previous month's book and share their projects and ideas inspired by the book and kit. The club leader (Tammy) leads the group in a project that introduces them to the next month't kit and book which they take home at the end evening. New members are always welcome! If you are interested in joining or learning more, contact the store.
